More than 2,085 candidates for graduation were honored May 2, during WSU’s 131st
commencement. Volunteers passed out caps and gowns
at the Lindquist Alumni Center to graduates during a 3 day

Weber State offensive
tackle David Hale was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the
2008 NFL draft.

$1 Million Gift to Weber State University
The Dr. Ezekiel R. and Edna Wattis
Dumke Foundation has announced a $1 million gift to Weber
State University, the largest single gift ever given by the
foundation.

Congratulations to the new Dumke College of Health Professions dean, Dr. Yas Simonian. "I am

Undergraduate Goes to Capitol Hill
Lindsay Cole, an
undergraduate researcher at Weber State University,
will be presenting her research on nest site
selection by Great Salt Lake shorebirds. Her
research was one of only 60 projects selected from
more than 223 submissions nationwide. Click

Fishing 101
WSU’s Wilderness Recreation
Center will host “Fly Fishing 101,” May 15, at
6:30-9 p.m. Meet at the Wilderness Recreation Center
(Annex 9), for the 9-week course. The course will be
$85 or $80 for students and alumni, and will be held
every Wednesday through July 9. For more
